Global Peace condemns the death of Ahwazi activist under torture

On June 5, 2018, a young man, Mr Hatam Moramezi, 20 years of age, killed under torture by the Iranian intelligence services in the city of Khafajiya in Ahwaz. Hatam Moramezi was arrested in 2017, while he was only 19 years of age.

Meanwhile, a Kurdish activist Mr Rahman Qorbani also killed under torture in the secret detention belonging to the Iranian intelligence services in the city of Khoy in West Azerbaijan province in Iran on June 5. Mr Qorbani was arrested on June 4, 2018 by the security services and killed just one day after his arrest.

It is noteworthy that a considerable number of Kurdish and Ahwazi activists were arrested in the last unrest in Iran from 28 December 2017 to 6 January 2018. A large number of the detainees have not released yet.

Global Peace without Borders Organisation condemns the death of Ahwazi and Kurdish activist in Iran, and warns that the vast majority of Kurdish and Ahwazi activists are facing severe physical and psychological torture in the detention.
